I do like a cook book and have found myself recently guddling around in charity shops seeking out some crackers. For instance Pru Leiths Christmas Countdown circa 1976 it is a bible of fashion, style and minimalism – not. The thing is the recipes stand up on their own today as much as they did then and they do look remarkably familiar. No name no pack drill but more recent ‘celebrity chefs’ may be found with this book in their shelves.¬†

If you are a vegetarian avert your eyes. If you’re not this is frankly foodie porn, just look at these lamb chops – aren’t the beezers? ¬†From my local butcher. I just thought these are things of beauty and should be celebrated. Scottish local lamb.

Short and sweet I’m off to marinade them. They are being whipped into a delicious Roast Chicken & Other Stories recipe which is a lip smacking winner in this here parish.
I must away to eat them = I thank you.
