Hidden gem in Edinburgh opens it’s doors to the public for valentines preview of handbags & jewellery!

Yum ! A Catherine Aitken original

If you like something unique.  A one-off. Something a lot different then I have the perfect spot to find yourself tonight.

In a tucked away warren of workshops and studios in Coburg Street a kick in the backside from Leiths waterfront and Ferry Road  lies Coburg House Studios. Handbags, paintings, jewellery, pottery, ceramics & other designer bits and bobs.   A few times a year they  throw open the doors and let the likes of you and me in to the gallery and individual studios to meet and engage with the creators of these lovely things. Tonight is all about Catherine Aitken and her lush bags and jewellery designer Erin J Daly.

Well known and respected artists sit cheek by jowl with new up and coming talents so it really is a must visit if you are a fan of creative art in all it’s different forms. It’s a great place for a mooch about so if you’re other half is heading off to the rugby this weekend – you have the perfect opportunity tonight between 5 – 8pm a valentines preview. And keep the place on speed dial they are always bursting with creative deilghts.  Oh and just round the corner – in the most unlikely place is The Cairn Cafe – tucked away in a wee corner in Tiso’s outdoor wear shop who do great homebakes, coffee & light lunchs. Just in case your in need of some sustenance.
