Wednesday night in Edinburgh the last thing you expect to see are exotic dancers, women gleefully stroking underwear and openly discussing Brazilians in the presence of journalists, designers and a dalmation. But hey ho life is full of surprises.
This surreal experience took place at the opening of the new and very Sex In The City style emporium called Odyssey Boutique. They have thought of everything. Luxury lingerie, silks, satins, corsets, garters, eye masks basically the sort of thing the girls like not the stuff the boys think we would like eg. no black, red polyster in this here parish.
They have two changing rooms with full length mango coloured silk curtains to try on their lingerie. The curtain separating the two rooms can be drawn back making this a couples experience as the girl models her choices and her partner sits and gives their opinion. Sexy.
A beauty treatment room also offers all manner of things. The idea being perhaps a bride will arrive t have her make-up done before finding the right
lingerie for her special day. Having not been a bride myself for a number of years it appealed just as much to me. In fact they do eyelash extensions so convincing I have booked myself in for the end of the month – will post a before and after shot of the eyeballs.
And great news for the bigger boobed amongst us that sizes go up to a GG. Halleluiah. Oooh and Sarah is stocking a sort of body stocking made of bamboo. Yes I know it sounds like an exercise in S&M but it is so light and skims the bod and …well I won’t go on but this is on my Christmas card list to myself from myself.
